Educating Adventures - Avalanche Skills Training 1 Skiers and Splitboarders

Our industry-leading Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 course follows the Canadian Avalanche Centre curriculum with additional Mountain Skills Academy curriculum. The course is designed for skiers and boarders who want to safely venture outside of the ski-area boundary or who are interested in heading in to the backcountry. This two-day course is an introduction to avalanche rescue skills and the principles of safe travel in the backcountry. Based out of Canmore or Banff, day 1 is in the classroom learning the theory of snow science and avalanche rescue, day 2 is in the backcountry putting the theory to use. Students receive a certificate from the Canadian Avalanche Centre upon completion of the course.
